Our Founder, Paul, has traveled all over the world and has firsthand experience using bathrooms in foul and downright dangerous conditions.
Those sights (and stenches) sparked a humanitarian vision that turned into action almost three years ago.
(You could say he was ap-Pauled to act.)
Since starting Toilet Equity, we’ve been able to go from 1 experimental toilet to 7 fully functioning ones.
It’s been exponential growth for us. First, in the number of toilets we’ve installed and maintained. And second, with the community partnerships we’ve created and strengthened.
We need both to grow our three-fold mission, which is providing safety and privacy to the exposed, keeping our waterways and sidewalks clean, and converting crappy situations into compost gold.
That’s what we call a win-win, plus one.
But the community’s needs still far outweigh our current capacity.
That’s why we want to break ground for a new compost site. Right now, all the collected waste gets piled into a steamy heap on Paul’s property. But we’re outgrowing that small parcel and must build a long-term site.
Our fundraising goal is $20,000 before the year ends. This amount will cover a good portion of building that new compost system and maintaining it.
We’re 85% of the way there.
So, we need you because visions are backed by real people with real drive to make our community a better place.
Your donations fund our bottom line, which then goes towards the community’s bottom line (if you know what we mean).
Will you donate to keep our mission going strong?
To health & community,
Your Toilet Equity Team
